GLL announces new partnership with British Gymnastics

Charitable social enterprise leisure provider GLL has signed a new partnership with British Gymnastics to continue working together in developing gymnastics until at least 2029 - meaning many more children will be able to access Gymnastics training in their local area, including showcasing their skills in competition.

Through the partnership, over 7,500 children across Great Britain and Northern Ireland currently have the opportunity to experience Rise Gymnastics, a high-quality and fun-packed gymnastics scheme created by British Gymnastics.

Many of GLL’s thirty centres which are offering the programme are in areas where participants have fewer opportunities to access the British Gymnastics club network, so making these strong links with official delivery partners is crucial.

Within this partnership, British Gymnastics will be supporting GLL to continue the growth of their Rise Gymnastics delivery over the next five years, as well as offering support to develop their workforce.

Commenting on the exciting announcement, Ibrahim Mehmet, National Sports Project Manager at GLL said: “GLL is delighted to be extending our partnership agreement with British Gymnastics. Gymnastics is one of our key sports and as a charitable social enterprise plays a key part in giving opportunities for children and young people to stay fit and active.

"Gymnastics involves a wide range of movements that enhance coordination, balance and agility. These skills are fundamental for a child's overall physical development and can significantly improve their ability to perform various physical activities throughout their lives.

“The introduction of the British Gymnastics 'Rise Gymnastics' framework has allowed pupils to develop through the pathway by undertaking weekly lessons whilst also having the opportunity to showcase their skills within local competitions.

“Through the partnership, we will also be looking to expand opportunities to train new coaches, expand our workforce and provide further development opportunities for our existing coaches.”

Jessica Pearce, Partner Relationship Manager at British Gymnastics also commented: “At British Gymnastics, we strive to give as many opportunities for uplifting gymnastics experiences as we possibly can for coaches and gymnasts alike.

"Our positive relationship with GLL allows us to do this in easy-to-access locations and their commitment to the experience of their gymnasts and development of their gymnastics workforce is exciting to see.

"I look forward to continuing the fantastic work and growth we have seen within the partnership that continues to rebuild post-Covid.

“I am extremely proud of the work we have done so far and would like to thank GLL for their continued support. I am confident the relationship will continue to grow and strengthen over the next five years.”
