After being closed for a few weeks for refurbishment, GLL's Jesus Green Lido reopens to the public on May 4 in time for summer.

The facilities have had a wash ‘n’ brush up while the pool itself has been given a fresh coat of paint. Much of the work has been undertaken by a crack team of volunteers.

One of the team comments, “We’ve been working round the clock and competing with some extreme weather to prepare the Lido for its May opening. Helped by many ‘Friends of JG’ volunteers, great progress has been made - more hands make light work! We’ve missed our special pool and are excited to swim, very soon, in our favourite aquatic place!”

To celebrate the fresh start, youngsters under 16 will be allowed to swim for free at any time from 4 – 6 May.
