Get Your Goggles On! Nearly 70 GLL Pools to Support Swimathon 2025

The UK's foremost leisure charitable social enterprise GLL will make available 68 of its managed pools for Swimathon 2025 - the world's biggest fundraising swim happening over the weekend of 28-30 March with fundraisers' proceeds going to Cancer Research UK, end of life charity Marie Curie and Swimathon Foundation.

Participants can choose to swim 400m or Triple 5k and they can swim as individuals or part of a team.

GLL has been supporting Swimathon over the years in its 'Better' branded pools.

As part of the preparations for Swimathon 2025, GLL is offering 'Better' swim customers a FREE webinar with Olympic Gold Medallist swimming legend Duncan Goodhew on Tuesday 4th March @ 7pm where he will be sharing training tips, answering questions and spreading some motivation and inspiration.

Participants can participate by completing this form in advance https://form.jotform.com/250362642740351

GLL is the largest provider of public swimming pools in the UK (140 pools and 9 lidos) including the iconic Manchester Aquatic Centre, West Reservoir and London Fields Lido - and the biggest provider of swimming lessons - teaching 200,000 people a week, including adult swimmers.

GLL's Head of Sport and Aquatics Andrew Clark said:

"With the renewed interest in swimming following last year's strong performance by Team GB's swimmers in the Paris Olympic pool, we are delighted to be making nearly 70 pools available for fundraising challenges at Swimathon 2025.

"Adults and children are taking advantage of our community pools which are available in convenient locations around the country and also our swim schools which welcome 200,000 swimmers every week.

"Swimathon 2025 is a great chance to start a lifetime fitness habit and support Cancer Research UK, end of life charity Marie Curie and Swimathon Foundation.  So get your goggles on and dive in."

Olympic swim legend Duncan Goodhew said:

“We will soon be entering Swimathon's fifth decade and none of that would have been possible without the pools that take part! So a big thank you to GLL for helping to make the event happen and please do help us make this year's the best yet!

"Everyone has their own reason for taking part in Swimathon, whatever your ability, whatever your age, whatever your drive."

"So why not join our webinar and encourage everyone you know in the swimming world to join us and make a splash this spring by signing up to Swimathon as an individual or as a team and challenge yourself to a distance that suits you, in a location that suits you, whilst fundraising for Cancer Research UK, the world’s largest charitable funder of cancer research, and the leading end of life charity, Marie Curie, as well as Swimathon Foundation?”
