Earlier this week, the BBC visited GLL's Wavelengths leisure centre in Deptford, south London, to film customer Mary Marson's 95th birthday celebrations.

Local resident Mary is a much-loved member of the Zumba class and takes part three times a week despite her age!

Fitness instructors Topaz and Rhianne put on a great show with balloons and cake for Mary after the class. The event was a lot of fun and was featured on BBC London TV news and radio.

General Manager Phil Cunningham steered the proceedings and comments, "It was great to see 55 of Mary's friends and family joining her on her special day doing the thing she loves most - Zumba! She's an inspiration to others and exemplifies what you can achieve with a positive outlook to active ageing."

Mary adds, "I feel on top of the world! I love everything about Zumba - the music, the movement. It makes me feel great! The people in the class are like my family. They're good people."
